The Bluetooth profiles A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) are used for this purpose. A2DP enables the transmission of stereo audio signals with an extraordinarily high sound quality. AVRCP is responsible for controlling tracks via the radio and steering wheel buttons and for starting playback.

The car radio adapter cables or plugs are connected to the CD changer input and recognised by the radio as a CD changer. This allows the music to be controlled via the radio and steering wheel buttons. Installing the car radio adapter is not difficult and can be done by many people themselves. For this purpose, the radio can be removed with radio hooks or by loosening 4 screws in order to connect the adapter to the back of the radio.
